Pakistani teachers arm themselves to deter attacks. American teachers still “gun free.”

From Fox News: "Government authorities in Pakistan's northwest frontier have given permission for teachers to carry concealed firearms in response to the Dec. 16 attack in Peshawar that became one of the deadliest terrorist strikes in Pakistani history."

With terror attacks in the US on the horizon, in Obama's Jihad-friendly monarchy, it is sickening Americans have our own government preventing us from safing our schools from terrorists and active shooters.

BTW, those AKs sitting on the table pictured above are full-auto assault rifles; the Pakistanis have another freedom Americans do not. 

Ladies: guns on your person NOT in your purse

Female gun owners are the fastest-growing demographic in the retail firearm industry. Year over year more women are licensed to carry guns and take personal responsibility for their own protection. After all, in a free society we are accountable for our own safety. But to keep those freedoms we must behave responsibly and with firearms safety is our primary obligation.


Recently there have been high-profile incidents involving toddlers or young children obtaining loaded firearms from a mom or relative's purse and accidentally discharging it, resulting in injury or loss of life.


The accidental shooting of Justin Reynolds and Monique Villescas by their 3-year-old toddler on February 1, 2015 illustrates the importance of women gun owners carrying firearms on their persons not in their handbags. Luckily the bullet that struck Reynolds and Villescas was not fatal for either. Not so, however, for Veronica Rutledge; a young mother accidentally shot and killed by her two-year-old son who removed and fired his mother's loaded gun from her purse.


As an advocate of freedom and personal liberty it is difficult to tell gun owners what they should and should not do with their personal firearms. Unless, of course, that gun owner, or segment of gun owners, is endangering themselves or others.


The gun community needs to self police more than any other politically active group. All gun owners, including those who buy a gun only to let it collect dust, have a duty to defend the Second Amendment from protectionist radicals by demonstrating that criminals, not legal gun owners, are responsible for unlawful gun deaths.


It is time, as a community, we put our collective feet down and encourage our armed daughters, sisters, and mothers to, one, avoid revolvers that cannot be simultaneously “safed” and loaded, and, two, carry your gun in a quality holster on your body not in your handbag.

Whether at home or staying away from home I follow a set protocol when "disarming" or separating myself from my carry pistol:

1. Remove pistol from holster pointing in a safe direction (by “safe direction” I mean property, not people, would be damaged if I were to negligently press the trigger).
   
2. Eject the magazine.
   
3. Eject the top off round, ensure the chamber is empty.
   
4. Reinsert the magazine and place the pistol and top off round well out of reach from young hands but not inaccessible in an emergency.
   

This protocol may be too “safety Sally” for some yet inadequate for others but it works, whether you're a man or woman, and is far more effective than leaving a handbag with a loaded “reliable” revolver assessable to a curious child.


I am not a "revolver hater." The first gun I fired, under the supervision of my father, was my dad's Model 10 Smith and Wesson .38. To this day I enjoy shooting and am fascinated by the mechanics and precision engineering of quality "wheel guns." As a legally armed citizen, however, a revolver is the last carry option I would consider.

Allow US service members be armed at their discretion

- My letter to the House of Representatives -

Dear Representative       , 

In addition to supporting an end to “gun free” zones please author legislation allowing US service members to carry, for self-defense and the defense of others, personal concealed handguns while in uniform. 

It is preposterous, in this era of active shootings and terrorism, our uniformed service personnel have no means of defending themselves or others at the outset of a “Ft. Hood” or Paris-style terrorist attack.

America must abandon the “not here” mentality. Combined with the already present threats from violent criminals and active shooters, western society is in a multi-generational, asymmetrical war with militant Islam. 

All able Americans, civilian and military, should be legally permitted to respond when our people and homeland are attacked. At least the US government should not mandate defenselessness and allow service members who wish to be armed to so be. Those intent on committing acts of evil will always be armed and violent despite the rules.

What is the Active Shooter Response Program (ASRP) and how does it serve society?

For schools, agencies, and places of work that adopt an Active Shooter Response Program the primary benefit will be the elimination of their organization's gun free policy. Decades of academic crime research demonstrates that criminals dominantly choose victims they believe to be unarmed. The ASRP is designed to make potential active shooters aware they will face armed resistance from the outset of an attack. It is a “deterrence with teeth” that empowers individuals, targeted by active shooters, to protect themselves and others during a criminal shooting incident where criminals or terrorists are intent on multiple fatalities. The ASRP charges the actual targets of active shootings to be responsible for their safety, and that of those who cannot defend themselves, instead of solely depending on the “wait and hope” plan of dialing police.

There are five Active Shooter Response Programs:

1. ASRP for Private and Public Schools (K-12)

2. ASRP for Colleges and Universities

3. ASRP for Hospitals and Medical Facilities

4. ASRP for Military Posts and Bases

5. ASRP for Businesses and Places of Work

Gun free regions of the world are complete humanitarian disasters. In the existing era of frequent active shootings and Islamic terrorism society must take greater responsibility for its own protection. The more Americans rely on government to provide for our “safety” the more of our freedoms government will take to provide it.

If this is a "victory" we have a serious problem

The FBI's investigation and arrest of Christopher Lee Cornell for 'planning to set off pipe bombs then gun down panicked law makers and staff as they fled the US Capitol building' has the makings of a perfect, fairytale "terrorist" arrest. Well, a fairytale it is.

Apparently some our federal law enforcement officials have no interest in going after the real murderers in (organized) radical Islam, so they groom and assist in the creation of a "monster" to parade for public display.

For anyone with an operating brain there are so many problems with Christopher Cornell's "terror plot" it smacks of something designed by a mentally ill person, which Cornell clearly seems to be, or a small child with crayons and a recently painted interior wall.

First, an 'attack on the US Capitol building with pipe bombs and AR-15s.' Really? We can tell Cornell has, one, never been to Washington DC. Otherwise he would know that the publicly accessible areas of the US Capitol building are for tourists. No, not terrorists. Tourists. People on vacation. And, two, his plot is completely void of any tactical logic since the DC metro area, especially surrounding government buildings, is protected by some of the most heavily-armed police in law enforcement.

Members of congress and staffers, myself once the latter, work in office buildings surrounding the Capitol building and move to and from, if smart and don't want to be stopped and asked a million questions by visitors, via tunnels under Congress member offices and the Capitol building itself.

Did the FBI, based on their investigation, have legal authority to arrest Cornell? Of course. Should they have? Of course not. What this kid needed was a visit from a local field office FBI agent and a stern talking to. Or left under investigation, by the FBI, to see if he could make contact with REAL bad guys from radical Islam.

Sadly it seems the FBI knew Cornell was not switched on or sane enough to organize with members of Islamic Jihad and decided to move in for an easy, and very public, arrest via grooming and assisting his “terror” plan.


To the competent, constitutional, and patriotic FBI agents protecting Americans from real Islamic terrorism, thank you! To agents who think arresting Christopher Cornell is a victory in the growing asymmetrical war with militant Islam, you need to reevaluate your motivations. 

France.... has an aircraft carrier? Feel-good “Gun Free” Nations and “Highly-Trained” Terrorists

Many in the American gun community were shocked when France, immediately following the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks, staffed the streets of Paris with French military “armed” with rifles but no ammunition or magazines. 

Equally shameful were seeing French cops in tactical gear "securing the city" with no rifles at all. One wonders if, when French police initially encountered the Islamic gunmen, their service pistols were even loaded. 

The fact that many American gun owners are better armed than most French police officers should come as no surprise. Consider the source. France, like much of Europe, is adversarial toward the sight of firearms, and outright aghast at the idea of personal gun ownership.

So how are these anti-gun philosophies working out for segments of the planet forcibly disarmed by government mandate? Not so well. Especially in Paris, for 17 innocent victims, and thousands dead in Borno Nigeria; a massacre Western media intentionally overlooked.

In reality the “gun free” world is a complete humanitarian disaster, especially in Africa where little to no rule of law is combined with generations of Africans being told guns are "bad" and citizens are “safer” not owning them.

Of course America has its share of active shootings and gun murders, but look where those attacks occur: gun free zones or cities, like Chicago, where guns are strictly regulated if not completely “illegal” (yet everywhere).

Perhaps if more in the American press corps embraced their country's gun heritage we wouldn't hear ridiculous statements about how the Paris gunmen were so “well-trained.” Well trained? What, did they participate in one of ISIL's choreographed “dance” videos before returning to France? 

No, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS...... MessNBC, the Charlie Hebdo attackers were not well-trained. They were sloppy and tactically clumsy. One could not even clear a malfunction with his own rifle. What they were was completely unopposed!

The truth is the Kouachi brothers expected to be killed during their initial assault on Charlie Hebdo because they clearly had no idea what to do with the “time” they had afterward.

In short, the police response to the January, 7 terror attacks in multi-cultural, “gun free” Paris was slow, confused, and extremely inadequate. Hey, aren't you glad Diane Feinstein and her band of disenfranchised kooks didn't get that “assault” weapons ban through two years ago? How would you like to be without your AR or AK in Obama's Jihad-friendly world now?

And, yes, France does have an aircraft carrier. To save face Hollande has it is steaming to help NATO operations in Iraq. The unarmed citizens for France, however, are just as vulnerable and defenseless now as they were on January, 7 2015.

America is a gun culture...

America is a gun culture and should embrace its heritage, notably in this era of increased terrorism and active shooting attacks. A terrorist killed by an armed citizen at the outset of an attack is a terrible recruitment tool for future, would be terrorist. An active shooter shot dead by an armed teacher is a clear disincentive for anyone contemplating an attack on schools. The world has changed. Innocent civilians are more a target than uniformed military or law enforcement.

The pen may be mightier than the sword, but not a bullet. You cannot continue to exercise free speech if you have been killed so doing. In a free society we, as citizens, must become more responsible for our own protection.
